Damian Ortega - Cosmic Thing (2003) - I cannot find where this piece resides currently, but has been through Europe, LA and Boston as far as I can see since it's completion in 03. Pretty awesome sculpture consisting of a 1989 Beetle (looks like a Mexican home market one), completely disassembled and strung up. I searched and didn't see this posted to OPPO or FP before, and I figured you guys would be interested. If anyone know what gallery is displaying it now let me know. Curious.
He also has done some other vehicle related installations which interest me.

Coolest one in my not-so-humble opinion.

Tubed tires eh?

I saw that and questioned it. But if it was Mexico home market it is a possibility. I know people who run tubes in radials in case they have to patch it in the middle of the woods somewhere

I'm not questioning the use of tubes, I just find it odd that they were included. Faik this could have been OEM for that bug. Still pretty cool.

Hung like a modern-day Formula One car.
